Leader of the Conservative party no stranger to bike theft

David Cameron has had his bike taken from outside a Tesco supermarket on Portobello Road. The BBC also reports that the Conservative leader is “pretty hacked off”. To put a positive spin on this at least it will help raise the awareness of bike theft . Cameron joins an increasingly large pool of people including Jonathan Coppack who rode his bike 6,000 miles for Plan International charity and then had his bike taken from outside his home.

David could have been helped if he had checked out our video with tips on how to prevent bike theft and perhaps made his bike look less desirable?

New solutions to bike theft include an M shaped stand and leaving notes to cyclists that have not properly secured their bike. Maybe if we made it harder for bicycle thieves then there would be less crime, especially as a large proportion of victims of bicycle crime do not return to cycling.
