Linus Market Bag review: Cycle chic panniers

Linus market bag folded down in to a small size

Using the Linus Market bag (£94.99, Linus Bikes) for some weeks now has completely revolutionize the way I think and see panniers. It is in a class of its own, with excellent convenience that makes it the bag any gentle man or elegant woman out there just wants [to be seen with].

The Linus Market bag has all the quality you want in a pannier plus more. And for this review, I will focus solely on the ‘more’.  It is a no brainer to talk about those basic qualities any pannier needs to thick the boxes; we all know them. However, if you are new to the world of cycling, and especially, the world of road cycling, these basic qualities are simple; the first and foremost being waterproof, sporty, space, high viz, etc.

The Market bag does cycle chic and stylish above and beyond other panniers. Whilst at the same time being highly functional. It is stylish for any type of casual or shopping trip. It draws attention due to the quality, finish and style. The easily accessible two-part compartments gives a convenience of dropping your purchases into it without having to remove it from your shoulder. The magnetic locks on the compartments makes it both simple and secure.

The Market bag thus can serve as a cycling or personal bag; for business or leisure, shopping or picnic, whatever you wish to use it for, it simply just comes handy. It is as easy to strap onto a bike as it is to throw it over the shoulders. Although it comes with 6 button holders (3 on each side) for a bike, you can use just 2 (one on each side) of these and still get no drama of it coming or falling off.

While the magnetic locks may sound too easy, they seal strongly enough to withstand any wind or bumps. So be rest assured that your belongings are chilling in there as you kept them no matter your speed or bumps on the road. The width and depth of the bag is convenience for any machine; laptop or notebook or tablets, and it can pack a decent amount of other things at the same time. I have used it to pack change of clothes, shoes, water-bottle, laptop, files and some toiletries too.

Check it out now and you would be glad you did. And I must say, the best character of it is the stylishness, that makes it a pride to dress up with.

All the Linus Bag products are made from 16oz waxed canvas. Since it is a natural, cotton-based fabric, waxed cotton canvas is not 100% waterproof, but the bags are highly water-resistant

Re capacity, the Market Bag can hold approx 21litres (10.5 litres each side)

Ultimately, the pannier you require depends on your usage – the Market Bag is perfect for light commuting in all British seasons

      Hope this helps
