One for the coffee table

Cyclepedia book on coffee table next to Warp book

“When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking”

Arthur Conan Doyle, Scientific American Magazine, 1896

This is the opening quote used in Cyclepedia. A beautifully put together book covering iconic bicycle design. The author Michael Embacher has been seeking out bikes from the last 90 years and photographed them in detail.

Each bike has a brief description of its history and some interesting facts. Like for example the above picture of the BSA Paratrooper – a bike that was parachuted in from the sky during World War II.
