Feedback from people who have already downloaded the 25 London Cycle Routes eBook“Loving my 25 routes. I have been cycling around London all my life, but part of the problem with that is that I know my areas so well that I rarely just go out for an explore. If nothing else, this book is an inspiration to do something a bit different on a sunny Saturday morning. It does that job very well because it has been put together so nicely, with such attention to detail: from photos, to points of interest, to GPS coordinates (which I have stuck on my Nokia along with the book, so it is always handy). Much more than I had expected for under a tenner. Many thanks.” -Andrea “This is a superb book, definitely one of the best bike related purchases I’ve done in a long time. This eBook includes a fab variety of cycle routes, from Central London ones to more countryside ones. Whether you want to sight see London’s most famous monuments, test your thighs on some wicked hills, or do some serious distance, you really have lots of choice to pick from. I also liked the way they are rated according to how easy they are” - Jerome “Great eBook, bargain price. The layout and pictures are beautifully done, maps are good resolution. Like the variety of routes, can’t wait to try them out. The download process was quick and easy too.” -Paul “I purchased this today and wasn’t expecting to go for a ride but then I found the London Night Ride section and as we were only talking about doing this in the week there are a few of us hitting the London roads tonight should the weather hold up. To those wondering if its worth it I’d say a big fat YES! I hesitated before clicking the buy button as i’d seen some really bad ebooks then I realised that i spend more on coffee for me and the wife than I would on this, so away I went and bought it. Conclusion : It’s far better value for money than any skinny tall latte I could have had (and this is a calorie burner ) the quality is excellent it’s very clear and well put together and the addition of the Google Earth and GPS files is fantastic, well worth the money.” -Lee |

Just wanted to be the first to say this ebook is absolutely awesome. The quality is brilliant and the GPS an awesome addition. Thanks for this Andreas, best £7 I have spent in a long time!
Great book, great value. I know you enjoy doing this Andreas, but the service you are providing free, for the cyclists of london does need to be recognised and appreciated. Thanks for London Cyclist in general but a special thanks for this excellent resource. If you are dithering folks buy it.
just downloaded the book today and can’t wait to get out there and try out the routes. looks beautiful and comprehensive – well worth the money!
Great job on the book Andreas. Keep up the good work!
Fantastic guide. Very useful.
Well done on a lovely book. Particularly liked the addition of GPX/KML for each route. Will have a go at a few of these over the summer
Great ebook, bargain price. The layout and pictures are beautifully done, maps are good resolution. Like the variety of routes, can’t wait to try them out. The download process was quick and easy too.
Excellent eBook and great value too. As an ex-pat Londoner I’ll be trying some of these on my Brompton next visit for sure!
This is a superb book, definitely one of the best bike related purchases I’ve done in a long time. This ebook includes a fab variety of cycle routes, from Central London ones to more countryside ones. Whether you want to sight see London’s most famous monuments, enjoy a ride along the river, test your thighs on some wicked hills, or do some serious distance, you really have lots of choice to pick from. I also liked the way they are rated according to how easy they are, and the type of bike they’re more suited to.
In other words it’s just brilliant, and I’m looking forward to the 2nd version.
Just purchased – Orpington loop – right up my street since I live in Bromley. I have a similar loop going out west through the downs so if you want that route then let me know and I’ll mail it over. Excellent work!
Nice one Andreas.
I’ve only had a glance at the routes so far but there seems to be a great variety of rides and the book is very well laid out.
I am looking forward to giving some of these a go throughout the next few months.
Great eBook, signed up to do Londonto Brighton so wanted some longer routes than my 6 mile each way commute! Glad to see a Wood Green ride some of which i wil incorproate into my commute some days making the distance longer!
Great idea I think I need a GPS though!!
Looks like a great Ebook and not too expensive!!
A really nicely produced guide at an incredible price. Great job!
A Very interesting book by itself but used with gsp its great. Its taken me a little time to figure out how to use this book with the gps coordinates provided, but now I can use my iphone to read the book and navigate its truly brilliant
I think it’s a terrific piece of work, love the way it’s presented and the routes are a great spread of quirky through to useful through to challenging. A few things though, “Jewelry” is I believe spelt “Jewellery” although maybe it’s an alternative spelling I’m not familiar with.
In the Alpine London section I would have thought Highgate West Hill was worthy of mention, as used in final stage of Tour of Britain in 2006. I personally would have liked a review of the most challenging ‘hills’ in London in this section. I get my hill-climbing kicks doing laps of Canonbie Road in Forest Hill when I don’t have time to get to Kent so am putting this forward for future inclusion if you think this section would interest people. Personally I think it has the edge on Highgate West Hill as very little traffic and well set up for laps, although not as long.
When I clicked on the Google Maps link give for the London – Chichester route description I get a choice of four exotic locations for the Unknown Road, but not, I think, including the intended one.
Looking forward to getting out on some of these routes, great work!
Hi there
I’ve now had a chnace to look hrough your ebook. Looks very useful for someone like me who ends up riding the same routes again and again due to lack of imagination and being disinclined to sit around researching rides when I could be doing them! I look foward to doing teh night ride when it gets warmer.
Thanks

Hi just bought the e-book and am looking forward to do some exploring on my next visit to London. I wanted to also know where I can get the route from Dartford to the city centre? I know it is there but cannot find it to try it out.
Best regards,
Phil
Hi Phil. Regarding the route to the city centre I have an article written here that is called “Finding London Cycle Routes”. Have a look for it and use some of the tools there. The one I would highly recommend is the online camden cyclists resource that shows you where there are cycle paths in London
Bagged the book last week and cracked off #8 (cant really give it away can I?) on a chilly Easter Sunday. Gonna say the cycle was OK – some interesting stops and a couple of nice pubs. An area we’d never visited before which I guess is what the guide is all about! Glad I downloaded the GPS file – very useful. Looking forward to 10, 11 and 16 next! Top stuff.
Martin, just wondering what GPS you’re using to ride with.. I use the iPhone but i’m trapped between tracking my rides with RunKeeper and navigating the routes with something like Trails.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Andreas,
I have been looking at the book with interest, and will soon(!) get out on my bike to try out some of the routes.
I’ve only recently moved to London, and haven’t yet had time to get on my bike and explore, what with decoration, finding my bearings and so on.
The “Easy” routes look good as a starter for me, so I’ll give them a go and let you have more feedback.
Loving my 25 routes. Many thanks, Andrea.
Andreas, you have done a great job. Well designed, clear maps, great photos and a good choice of distances. I am now thinking about cycling in places I may not have considered. Can’t wait to get out there. Thank you. Elaine
This captures the pleasure of cycling in London and extends it with a load of suggestions. The excitement comes through just reading through the routes always allowing for opening up your own variations and new areas to explore. If you don’t get the buzz of cycling in London, particularly central London, take it on trust and have a look at this book. As others have said, thanks Andreas for this and the cycling service you offer.
Nice book with interesting routes: I’m looking forward to doing more of them. Ideas for improvements: the maps, although good, could be labelled better – it’s not instantly clear where they link up to each other, and it’s similarly not clear where the ‘attractions’ on each ride are marked. Also, the higlighting colour doesn’t come out too well on a (bog-standard office) colour printer. Minor nits, very well done though; loving the gpx and kml trails. (loading them onto an android device was a challenge but do-able in the end…)
Great e-book – well worth 8 pounds. The gpx files work nicely with the breadcrumb trail feature on the Garmin Edge 705. If you are looking to publish more routes, what I’d (selfishly) like to see is some 50-100 miles loops starting and ending in central London. I kind of feel like a cheat getting the train back!
It’s taken me a while to get around to posting a comment, Andreas, but that’s partly because I’ve been trying out the cycle routes in your terrific little book! Not only have I had a great time following new routes to old destinations – haven’t had a chance to simply explore yet – but it inspired me to take a free cycle training course in my borough. I learned a whole lot of rules of the road that I wasn’t aware of previously, so thanks for that recommendation. I also followed your advice and took the cycle maintenance course with Digger and Diego. Good fun and an excellent learning experience. I couldn’t be happier to have discovered London Cyclist and all it includes. I’m out on my bike so much more now and loving it. A thousand thanks, Andreas!
Hey Andreas, I was going to buy this book just mostly because i wanted to support your great website but actually it showed me plenty of routes I did not thought about before….
thanks a lot.
Sam.
Hey Andreas,
I bought the book yesterday and it looks great! I’ve only really started cycling recently and wanted to support your site because it’s given me great advice on accessories and a chance to read more experienced cyclists views. I think I’ll start with #1 and see how it goes…
Thanks,
Tim
Great book. Lovely production quality and great photos. GPS files make this from good to great. One small tip, on a Garmin Edge GPS the native GPX files all appear as nameless routes. Convert them first using http://www.gpspies.co.uk to tcx files and they work perfectly as course files,
Hi there
I’ve downloaded this file. How do I move the gps maps onto my iPhone?
Thanks
