London Cycling Bookclub launches

Andreas · Jan 7, 2011 · 3 Comments

The London Cycling Bookclub will meet for the first time in January!

The club is all about meeting fellow cyclists with a love of cycling and cycling literature. The meetings will probably happen on a 4-6 week basis and the first one is scheduled to happen at the Fitzroy Tavern on Charlotte Street.

With a huge choice of amazing cycling books and some ideas have already been thrown around for books to be covered: Anne Mustoe: A Bike Ride, Matt Seaton: Thoughts from the bike lane and Tim Moore: French Revolutions – Cycling the Tour de France.

The format is largely undecided and the first meeting will be a chance to have a say as to how the London Cycling book club could be run.

Set aside on your calendar: Wednesday, 12th of January, 7pm at the Fitzroy Tavern, 16 Charlotte Street, London, W1T 2NA

Hopefully we will also have Matthias, who is setting up the group, writing up some regular contributions on London Cyclist about the books that have been covered.

Some contenders include ‘It’s’s All About The Bike’ by Rob Penn and ‘Put Me Back On My Bike’ by William Fotheringham, although both are non-fiction, and the classic ‘The Rider’ by Tim Krabbe.

What a fun idea. Count me in.
