This is not the brightest light but good as a source of be seen
This is not the brightest light but good as a source of be seen. Battery life is extremely good and can use for the whole year for my average 50 miles per week rides. I have attached two of these to either side of front fork.

The LEDs are bright and the mounts are sturdy and easy to attach to the bike. The lights also release simply and quickly. The rear light comes with four different modes and the kit comes with batteries, so you're ready to go straight out of the box. They're also not too heavy.

    Would heartily recommend.

The front light first; I liked the flashing function as in marginal commuting weather it really lights you up for drivers. I don't do a lot of night time out-of-town riding, but would guess that for illuminating the road it's not enough, less for seeing and more for being seen. But fine for my purposes.

Rear light: brilliant. Wide and noticable - I use the rapid flash mode mostly and it lights me up like a Christmas tree. The only issue I have with it is the number of modes is not really necessary - solid, rapid flash, slow flash and Knight Rider mode strikes me as overly fussy. Also the waterproofing could be improved as it has failed on occasion after getting wet. It works now having been kept dry and warm.

The fitting for the front light is the weakest part of the whole shebang in my view. The fork which the screw head is supposed to gain purchase against as you tighten the assembly to the handlebars, is made of really inadequate plastic, which bends and spreads out as you tighten it. This component really needs a metal insert to strengthen it to functional standards.

Exactly what I wanted. Both lights are bright. The white (front) light not only makes the cyclist visible, but gives a reasonable illumination of the road ahead too. The red (rear) light can be mounted horizontally or vertically and is highly visible. They were reasonably easy to mount, simple to use and have flashing or steady modes. The price of £13.43 was the best value that I found. Batteries were included, and are standard sizes so when they expire I'll replace them with rechargables.

These lights were delivered very promptly and came well packaged. The mount onto the bike is sturdy and both lights slide and click into place, there is no wobble when riding (if you install the mounts correctly). You will need a flat head screw driver to loosen/tighten the rear light. This product comes with batteries which are your standard cheap batteries.

I was amazed by the brightness of these lights, other road users will have no problem seeing you. The buttons on both lights are also very well built so that it is an obvious click when you change the setting. The front and back light both have flashing and constant settings.

All was so good and I was thinking about giving this product a 5 star review because I was very impressed, however, after removing the lights (as I lock my bike up in a bike store and I don't want them to be stolen), I left them in my room overnight. When nodding off to sleep I realised that the front light was still on....Even though I had clicked the button so that the light goes from constant, to flashing to 'off' the light was still emitting a very small amount of light. To stop this I had to remove one of the batteries. So whether or not this is just a defect in my single product I do not know, but in this case if I were to leave the batteries in when not in use the batteries would eventually run dead.

If it were not for this (in my case) small problem then I would have 5 stared this product. Definitely worth your investment if you're looking for good, bright, sturdy bike lights to light up the road.

I bought these lights as I thought I had lost my previous set, but despite finding my old ones in time to cancel I thought I would get them anyway with winter coming up, and cycling increasingly at night in a busy city. I have been amazed how bright these are, my old (more expensive) set already was brighter than most other cyclists and these ones out shine those many times over (the front one is about on par with my dad's £50+ front light). Of course the draw back to very bright lights is more power consumption, so more batteries to get through, I have had these only a couple of months (using these 30-60min per day Mon-Fri) and have had to replace the batteries in both (the back light after barely a month) whereas my old set hasn't had batteries replaced for over a year (as far as I can remember) - but well worth the extra hassle and expense.
Thoroughly recommended - I have already bought another set for my brother.

Lights fitted to bike very well and were very bright and visible with a good selection of operating modes. These are also light on weight.

However, both have now malfunctioned after only a few months. I have kept them in my rucksack, and jangling around in there caused the front light to develop a loose connection and only illuminate when holding the unit tightly together by hand. There is no simple way to open it up and repair this myself. The button on the rear light, after getting wet (from cycling in the rain), has stopped working so the only way to turn it off is to remove the batteries. Again, there is no way for me to open this up and repair the unit as it is molded plastic. Basically, they're spent and in the bin (minus batteries of course).

I would expect bike lights to be built a bit more robustly - I have had a head-torch for 10 years that has withstood much the same treatment without any malfunctions. Likewise it's frustrating that I would probably be able to fix them with some blu-tack and a hair-dryer, but only after smashing the plastic casing to smithereens. Only buy these if you are prepared to treat your bike lights with delicacy, like a fragile flower or bonsai tree.

A good lights for the price. Bright front and rear light.
However if the front light can be slightly water proof it will be great. It lasted for few downpours (which were not heavy) and then went kaput. Not sure whether it is quality issue with Raleigh but I bought another different model from Raleigh and it lasted even shorter time than this.
The rear light though is much tougher than the front light. Lasted for more than two years now
