A little while back I did a roundup of all the companies offering bicycle insurance. ETA came out the clear winner for being the most generous in their terms and conditions as they cover a lot more scenarios than others. A number of Twitterers and commenters would tend to agree. I also tested out the different companies by calling them up and seeing how long it would take to connect. ETA was the fastest. I always think this is a good sign they actually care about their customer.
I recently noticed on the ETA page that you can save 40% on your bicycle insurance if you have a folding bike. This is a great advantage for folding bike owners so I wanted to spread the tip to you guys in-case you are considering buying bicycle insurance.
Before you do purchase however I strongly recommend calling up the company that you have for your home insurance and seeing if they will also cover your bike. Often this can end up being even cheaper.
