Here are three London bike rides taking place soon

The LFGSS rides forum is one of the best places to hear about social rides taking place in London.

Here’s a recently selection..

October 19th: London Borough Spiral Ride

This 180km ride has been organised by the forums members. Its a spiral loop that will take in all 32 of London’s boroughs. It starts in Sidcup and loops all the way to the King Charles I statue in Trafalgar Square. At which point you are officially 0 miles from London.

You can register your participation and find out more details on this forum post.

November 1st: Day of the Dead Ride

Celebrate the Dia de Los Muertos in London with Hackney Bicycle Film Society as they start a new tradition in the London bike community. Their first Annual Day of the Day Bike Ride invites participants to come dressed in your “Calavera” or “Calaca” (skeleton) wear (time for face paints!).

The ride take splace in the streets of Hackney and East London. It starts at Stamford Hill entrance of the Abney Cemetery in N16 0LH at 8pm on Friday 1st of November.

The Dia De Los Muertos is certainly not a morbid holiday, its a celebration and a chance to give respect to those who have passed. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico.

Find out more on the Hackney Bicycle Film Society facebook page.

November 16th: Brick Lane to Cambridge

A 62 mile ride to Cambridge, that leaves near Brick Lane. The ride starts at 9am. To take part, simply add your name on the LFGSS forum thread. As anyone who’s ridden to Cambridge before will know, this can be a really beautiful route and it isn’t too tough.

Cheers for sharing Andreas. Do you have to ride a fixed gear / single speed to take part in these?
