TfL hoping to educate through new cycle safety video
This post is hot off the heels of a recent survey I have been running (You still have a chance to leave your opinion here) that so far shows that a lot of people want me to keep everyone up to date on London cycling news.
I’ll keep this post brief as I am at London Stansted Airport waiting to fly to Greece and I’m enjoying a pre-flight Stella (Mmmmm good!). I received an e-mail this morning off TfL about a video they are sending out to 140,000 cyclists in London about how to stay safe on the roads. After the recent spate of road deaths I am not at all surprised that this video has been put together. It is interesting to note that the majority of accidents have been involved with so called Heavy Goods Vehicles. To seasoned cyclists I am sure these tips are not necessary but none the less may be a good refresher. The other video of note by TfL is the popular do the test advert.
Give the new video a watch and let me know what you think.

I thought that was a very good video. Not the short shock type of PSA you often see, but instead a really good illustration of what truck (lorrie) drivers can and can’t see.
Thanks for the comment Rantwick – I had a look through just now and yes it seems like a good video – really gives you an appreciation of the huge blind spot that lorry drivers have and some of the difficulties of getting around.
